Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. But all media uploaded is usually accessible to the public.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Our third-parties (e.g CloudFlare and GitBook) also may use cookies.

Forms
We have multiple kinds of forms on our website. When visitors or users submit a form, we capture the IP Address for spam protection. We also capture the email address and might capture other personal data included in the Form fields if applicable. When visitors or users submit a contact form, we retain the data for 30 days to provide customer service. All collected data might be shown publicly and we send it to the appropriate team members to perform necessary actions based on the form submission.
We use Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection. Their privacy policy can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Children
We do not knowingly collect data or personal information from children under the age of 13 or those under the minimum age for data collection as defined by the laws in their country. By registering an account, you declare that you are at least the minimum age for data collection as defined by the laws in your country. If your country does not have a minimum age, then you declare that you are at least 13 years old. Our team members reserve the right to verify a user’s age to ensure we comply with legal requirements (e.g. COPPA and GDPR). We also use your age to better understand our audience and improve your experience. If we find or are notified of data collected for someone under 13 or the minimum age for data collection in their country, the data will be wiped, including the account of the individual.
Commission Invoicing
When you commission us, we’ll collect some billing details from you such as your name/email address, payment method used, billing address, etc, to help prevent fraud and verify your purchase. We conduct our invoicing via PayPal and Stripe and their respective privacy policies can be viewed on their sites: PayPal & Stripe.
All data collected is strictly confidential and protected as explained in the “How We Protect Your Data” section.
Purchases & Other Things We Collect
When you purchase one of our pre-made plugins, we won’t collect any payment details such as your real name or billing address as per BuiltByBit’s Enhanced Privacy system. To learn more about this, please see BuiltByBit’s Enhanced Privacy article.
We may collect anonymous data for web traffic such as the country your visit is from. Surveys may also be sent to users, which are optional, and users can elect to answer anonymously.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We may also release your information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights, property, and safety of us or others.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. However, data stored on our site can be exported and deleted upon the user’s request.
How We Protect Your Data
We use encryption, security measures, and train our team members to not release any personal data of users unless it’s necessary to comply with law enforcement, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights, property, and safety of us or others.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
